Why Do We Change Birth Language in HypnoBirthing?
Contract your hand right now. π
What does contraction mean to you?
To me it means close. But what is happening during labor? OPENING!
We change the word contraction to surge.
Not to be annoying. Not to prove anything.
We do this to give moms a more positive way to think of contractions and also a better visual.
In HypnoBirthing we teach how the uterus works. We have three layers that work together to draw back the uterine fibers so that the cervix can open.
A surge of energy comes over your body and the uterus works to open so the baby can move down and be born.
Isnβt that a much more positive way to think and give you a better visual for what is actually happening?!
We also teach specific breathing while the surge is happening so it can work more efficiently and have less tension.
Words matter.
