Postpartum Massage

You hear so much how self care is important after you have a baby.

A postpartum massage can be so helpful. As you see in the picture below of the loving embrace that creates a raised shoulder. A loving gaze that results in a forward and tilted neck. So many things effect our bodies those first weeks, months and really years.

In a postpartum massage we focus on drawing in the hips, releasing tension in shoulders and neck so that then we can also open up your chest. All that forward leaning love that comes with feeding and holding your baby takes its toll.

If you are able, schedule your postpartum massage a few weeks after birth. See if you can bring a friend or family member so you can feed the baby right before the session and they can keep the baby happy for that hour.

Really when does the postpartum effects on our body really end?! Maybe when you can’t pick up your littlest! It is never too late to benefit from massage.
